You Capture - Silence and Halloween

 Thursday, November 4, 2010

One of the themes for this week's "You Capture" assignment is Silence. And what better than a headless statue! But really, I chose this for "silence" because of the emotion it evoked in me when I saw it. Seeing this statue in art history books for years suddenly meant nothing and I was overcome by the beauty of it when I saw it in person. It truly silenced me.

The other theme this week was Halloween, and while I didn't end up getting too many Halloween shots, I did get this little spider webs.  I think the dew drops caught on it, hung silently in midair, makes this picture work for both Halloween and Silence.

One can come away with a lot of different meanings when looking at that headless statue.

Nice photos!
