Photo Shoot Leftovers

 Thursday, February 10, 2011

Every time I go and shoot, I love coming here and posting my favorite to share! But last night I was going through all my pictures and realized there were a lot of pictures I liked that never made my final cut to be posted.   And I thought some of them should be shared! So basically, here's a small collection of my 2nd favorite pictures from shoots!

And if I may digress--I can't believe I have reached 75 followers today! Thank you all so much for reading!

This one is a leftover from my Valentine's Day Cards shoot.  The picture I ended up posting was a top 30 for The Paper Mama's Valentine's Challenge! Here's the one I didn't use!

This one is a leftover from my Doggy Birthday Party shoot I did the other day.  I took LOTS of dog pictures that day so I have many, many leftovers, put here's one in particular that I liked.

These are a few leftovers from my shoot with Brittany and her dog, Dakota.  I took SO many so I just chose a few favorites to post, and I overlooked some of these.

The next two are from my Beach Photo Shoot with my friends Meghan and Kristin.  This was my very first attempt at portrait photography.  I posted a lot on the link above, but I took SOO many that I never posted.  Here's a couple.
(Also I've been experimenting with Coffee Shop's Baby Powder Room action.  Its amazing for portraits!)

The next one's from last November when I was doing my Fall photo shoots.  It was either from this shoot or this one.  I just came across it again recently and wondered why I never posted it.

And finally, a leftover from my many pictures from Paris. You should really click on that and see the rest! I had so much fun putting my pictures from that trip into black and white.  I struggle sometimes with black and white and always end up thinking that the pictures look better in color, but I've LOVED how my pictures from Paris look in black and white.  Something about that city just screams to be put into black and white! I've posted several pictures from this trip in black and white before but I just came across this one and couldn't believe I haven't posted it before! It features my lovely friend, Li Anne, wandering through the Pere La Chaise Cemeterie, where people like Oscar Wilde and Edith Piaf and Proust and Jim Morrison are buried.

And I know this isn't quite what Click it Up a Notch had in mind for their "What I Learned" link up, because it doesn't have anything to do with the actual photography, but I learned its important to go back through your photos to find the ones that were forgotten! I'm usually in such a hurry to post pictures after I take them that I just go through and grab all my favorites, and edit them and post them and then I'm on to the next shoot and I quickly forget about the ones I didn't post! So when you have time, go back through your pictures, and you may find some real gems!

I disagree :O) That is exactly what I had in learned something :O) Some weeks I just learn something about myself or life but this is even photography related! What a great lesson to remind all of us too! I get so caught up in the "best" ones that sometimes I forget to review the other great ones as well! Thanks for the reminder! These pictures are fabulous! My favorite for sure is the black and white in Paris! I SO want to go there and just photograph until my fingers bleed or my camera breaks! I will definitely have to go check out the rest of your shots!! You did a great job on your B & W conversion!!! Thanks for linking up and congrats on 76 (wink) followers :O)

I love the black and white at the end! Also, just wanted to mention that you "leftovers" are darn good shots.

Lovely photos and it is a good reminder to go back. I will often go back a like a photo the second time around that I didn't like the first time.

It is very true--I love going back and looking at older photos (in fact, I did just that on my own facebook this morning-- it was fun looking at pictures from 2006--I can't believe that was 5 years ago!)

Great pictures as well!

Great photos. They are all great but I love the last two.

Lovely 2nd bests :) I agree I am always going through my archives and seeing photos that I really should have posted - my only problem is that I just don't get the time to post as often as I would like.

that's great advice! I think too that I am constantly learning new editing tools, so that now, I may find something that I took a long time ago and didn't know how to edit properly and now I do, kwim?

Sometimes I think the leftovers and out takes are the best ones. :)
