Good to Wow - Pumpkin Edits

 Wednesday, October 19, 2011

I had fun editing my pumpkin shots for this weeks challenge. Instead of doing clean edits, I added some texture and ran some subtle vintage actions on them.

And..then for fun, I thought I'd add a face to the pumpkin in this shot...

And lastly, this shot...

Which I also decided needed a face...and then I got a little carried away and turned it into a little Halloween Card!

I added the texture and jack-o-lantern face on Photoshop, and then brought it into Picnik to add the text and border.  It was my first time trying to add a face like this onto a picture.  I found a picture online that I wanted to use for the face, and then basically applied it like a texture, used a layer mask to remove what needed to be removed and played with the blending modes and opacity a bit.  It wasn't too hard to figure out!  Check out Ashley's blog for other awesome edits!

Oh and there's still time to link up to Photo Tip Tuesday!

All lovely skillful shots (I should just copy that phrase to add to all of your posts as it always applies) - especially love your second last picture and had a laugh at your last.

These pictures are so fabulous! Seems strange to say, but I always have a tough time photographing still life. You captured these pumpkins wonderfully! Loved the card :)
