Experiments in Macro
Wednesday, January 4, 2012
I got two awesome new lenses for Christmas! A Nikon 35mm f/1.8 Lens from my mom, and a Nikon 85mm Macro Lens
from me (with the help of some gift cards and X-mas money!) I'm so excited about it, its my dream macro lens, and I've been DYING for a macro lens!!!
I went on a walk around my neighborhood to grab some quick shots to practice. Getting good focus is really tricky with macro because the depth of field is so shallow, so it takes some practice.
But this is one of the first shots I took, and I love it!

I love this last shot too!

WOW Jaymi!! Those first 2 are amazing.
I LOVE the bee (one of my favourite macro subjects) and the tiny hairs on the flower in the second are gorgeous. The next lens on my wish list is a macro lens... oh so expensive!!

Wonderful shots!!!!
Which lens do you like better?
I have the Canon 100mm .... ♥ it!
Happy Shooting!
I have the 35mm too and have always loved that lens! Macro is one of my favorites to shoot, at least in the warmer months on the east coast. Fun to get down low and see what lurks there, ha! I agree it can be rather tricky so I rarely shoot without a tripod and remote or timer release. You're rockin' it so far, enjoy!
