John and Alyssa's Wedding

 Saturday, April 21, 2012

As I mentioned a few days ago, I shot my first wedding last week! I swore I would never shoot a wedding but it was for one of my best friend's little sister and I was able to co-shoot it with another best friend, Meghan, who's a fabulous photog and she has shot a few weddings so I felt more comfortable shooting along side her.  I took hundreds of photos and have only edited a fraction of them, but a lot of people have been leaving me comments asking to see some, so here are a few!

As you can imagine, weddings are challenging to shoot! If the light's bad or people are in the way, there isn't much you can do about it! You have to work with what's in front of you.  Meghan and I split up a lot and covered different things, so if you think I'm missing something important it's probably either on Meghan's camera or I haven't edited yet! I also haven't edited any reception photos yet, these are just some of the photos that have popped out to me so far.  Ok, enough disclaimers? Here are a few pics:

I'm not sure weddings are something I'll get into, they just don't really feel like my forte, but it was definitely a learning experience! And Meghan and I had so much fun shooting together, we threw together a blog called MegJay Photography to post pictures from events we shoot together! When she posts her shots from the wedding I'll share the link so you can her shots!

This is very different from shooting in the nature, but both need creativity.

I love what you have done.

Lovely images! Doing wedding photography can surely be nerve-wracking, but you've done a wonderful job.

This is the only wedding I've done and it was rather impromptu:

That's why I love wedding photography because I'd met a lot of people.

An adventure is never an adventure when it's happening. Challenging experiences need time to ferment,
and an adventure is simply physical and emotional discomfort
recollected in tranquility.
