Oh hi everybody. Wow, it has been a while since I've posted. I've been on the road for my job for MONTHS and have had no time to post. I'm ready to go home. One more month of travel to go...
I'm in Detroit right now but last week I was in Salt Lake City, and on our day off we drove to Arches National Park in Moab for the day. On the drive through the desert back, the stars were insane. I begged my friends to pull over so I could throw up a tri-pod and they did. And I got this shot of the stars, and of the Milky Way. I couldn't believe I actually got a shot of the Milky Way!
It was a 30 second exposure at f/3.5 and ISO 1000. I tried one with a 90 second exposure and a lower ISO but the stars started to streak just a little bit. It wasn't quite enough to get a "star trails" effect so instead it just looked blurry. I definitely want to experiment with this kind of photography more!
